Editorial Policy
The rules every entry in the library must follow.
Last updated: October 30, 2026
Independence
GetITechSkills is independent. No company, school or training provider pays for entries, rankings or mentions. If that ever changes, we will say so on the page it affects.
Authorship
Entries carry the byline GetITechSkills Editorial. We do not use the names of invented experts, and we do not claim degrees, jobs or certifications for the people who work on the site. We do not write first-person stories that did not happen.
How an entry is made
- Choose one question. Each entry answers a single search question, so two entries never compete for the same one.
- Write for a beginner. We define each term the first time it appears and prefer short sentences and concrete examples.
- Check against sources. Facts are compared with official documents, standards and recognised references. See the methodology.
- Review before publishing. Drafts may be prepared with software writing tools. The editorial team checks every entry against its sources before it goes live.
- Date it. Each entry shows when it was last updated.
Numbers and claims
We do not publish salaries, hiring rates, growth forecasts or similar figures unless an official source supplies them. When we do, we name the source and give its date. If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out.
What we avoid
- Promises of jobs, income or certification results.
- Fast-changing tool tutorials that go out of date within months.
- Fear-based security advice. We explain risks calmly and practically.
- Thin pages written only to catch search traffic.
Images
Images are drawn for this site or come from public or licensed sources. Credits appear next to the image when a source requires them.
Advertising
The site does not show advertising today. If we add it later, ads will be clearly marked and kept apart from the text, and this policy and the privacy page will be updated first.
Mistakes
We correct errors in the open. See how on the corrections page.
