Corrections

We fix mistakes in the open. Here is how to report one and what happens next.

Report an error

If you think an entry is wrong, unclear or out of date, tell us through the contact page or at [email protected]. Please include:

  • The address (URL) of the entry.
  • The sentence or example you think is wrong.
  • A source that shows what is correct, if you have one.

What we do

  1. We read your report and check it against our sources.
  2. If it is right, we fix the entry and change its update date.
  3. If the error changed the meaning of the entry, we add a line to the log below. Small fixes such as typos are not logged.
  4. If we disagree, we keep the text and can explain why.
