How computers and networks work.
Almost everything in IT sits on two ideas: a computer follows instructions, and computers talk to each other over networks. If you understand how a machine stores and processes information, and how it finds and reaches another machine, most other topics become easier to place.
The entries in this area start inside the machine, with processors, memory and storage, then move outward to files, operating systems, the internet, IP addresses, DNS and the web. The last entries are practical: setting up a home network and using the command line.
Who it helps: Start here if words like “router”, “IP address” or “operating system” still feel fuzzy, or if you want a base before learning to code.
